Shen was released on March 24, 2010. Players could purchase them with Riot Points or Blue Essence as soon as it dropped in-game.

Shen is primarily played in the Top lane and falls under the Tank class. However, they can also be effective in the Support depending on team composition and matchups. The champion's kit and playstyle make them most suited for it, where they can maximize their impact throughout the game.
