The Mythic Shop rotation system was introduced in Season 12 when Riot Games completely overhauled the Mythic Content system. This update removed Gemstones and Prestige Points, replacing them with Mythic Essence as the new currency for purchasing exclusive content.
Starting with Patch 14.24, Riot removed Blue Essence, Orange Essence, and shards from the Mythic Shop, shifting the focus entirely to premium cosmetics like Prestige skins, Mythic skins, chromas, and accessories. Each Mythic skin appears in the rotation at least twice per year, so missing an item doesn't mean waiting indefinitely for another chance.
The Mythic Shop is a special in-game storefront where players spend Mythic Essence to purchase exclusive cosmetics. This includes Mythic and Prestige skins, chromas, icons, emotes, and wards that can't be obtained anywhere else. The shop's inventory rotates regularly, so if an item gets removed, you'll need to wait for it to return before you can buy it. Mythic Essence is a rare currency that makes these items some of the most exclusive cosmetics in League of Legends.
The Mythic Shop is divided into four sections, each with different rotation schedules and offerings:
Prices vary depending on the item's exclusivity. The most expensive items cost 200 Mythic Essence, typically reserved for specific skins, while the cheapest start at 5 Mythic Essence for icons.
The Mythic Shop refresh time varies depending on the section. The Bi-weekly, Weekly, and Daily sections all refresh at 00:00 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). The Featured section operates differently since items don't expire simultaneously, and there's no fixed refresh schedule. Featured items rotate based on their individual availability periods, so check each item's expiration timer to see when it leaves the shop.
Mythic Essence can be obtained through several methods, each offering different amounts:
Mythic Essence accumulates slowly through regular gameplay, so it's worth saving up for the items you want most. The loot box method relies heavily on luck, while the leveling system provides a guaranteed way to earn it over time.
