Vi was released on December 19, 2012. Players could purchase them with Riot Points or Blue Essence as soon as it dropped in-game.

Vi is primarily played in the Jungle lane and falls under the Fighter class. The champion's kit and playstyle make them most suited for it, where they can maximize their impact throughout the game.
